It comes after the company reportedly sold Jack Entertainment to management last month.
JACK President Matthew Cullen confirmed to Cleveland Jewish News that the gaming company was no longer related to Gilbert's huge business empire. However, the company's headquarters were moved from Detroit to Cleveland, home to the Gilbert Cavaliers NBA franchise.
"Jack's management team, which has been together since its inception, remains in place and owns control of the company," Cullenin said in a statement to CJN.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The combination of Jack Casino in downtown Cleveland and Jack Distilledown Lacino in North Randall, Ohio, is estimated to bring in $400 million to $500 million in annual revenue.
The state of Buckeye has 11 commercial gaming venues and is the only casino operator based in Ohio as a director of Jack's.
Gilbert's gradual casino exitOhio voters approved casino games in 2009, and Gilbert was instrumental in the opening of the state's first gaming property, Horshee Casino Cleveland, in partnership with Caesars Entertainment three years later.
Jack's roster of games eventually grew to six locations. By 2018, however, Gilbert had signaled that he would quit the casino business. Sales partners include Churchill Downs and gaming real estate investment trust VICI Properties. The Greek Town Casino in Detroit sparked speculation that Gilbert was looking to sell his gaming assets to operate with the Detroit Tigers in the Major League Baseball when Jack sold them to VICI and Penn National Gaming for $1 billion in late 2018.
Gilbert is from an automobile city that is worth about $49.6 billion as of last August. His best-known companies are Quicken Loans and the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers.
Ohio Casino SlumpCurrently, the Buckeye State Casino is open after being closed for months in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the state's gross gaming revenue (GGR) has been hit hard by the health crisis.
Last year, the state's four casinos - the remaining seven gaming venues - grossed a total of $643.37 million, down from $850.98 million in 2019. The four casinos are JACK Cleveland, Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati, and two Hollywood venues. The casinos are Belterra Park in Cincinnati, Eldorado Gaming Cyoto Downs in Columbus, MGM Northfield, Hollywood Gaming Dayton, Hollywood Mahoning Valley in Youngstown, JACK Thisledown in Cleveland, and Miami Valley Gaming in Lebanon.
A potential catalyst for Buckeye state operators, including Jack, is sports betting. Last week, Gov. Mike Dwayne said he was optimistic that sports betting will be approved in the state this year. Each of the 11 game venues in the state can receive one skin, which gives room for mobile betting to operate. 프라그마틱 슬롯 사이트
